Digitally printed on Superior NCR paper, 2 or 3 part loose forms are crisp, clean, and professional. Impressions made by your pen on the form are intense and legible, and they do not fade over time as is often the case with cheaper papers.
This paper is environmentally friendly, free of harmful chemicals, and 100% recyclable.

2 part sets come in white and canary.
3 part sets come in white, canary, and pink.
We print forms in letter, half letter, and quarter letter sizes.
NCR forms are printed with no bleed, so your form design should allow for an unprinted border around all edges.
A vector pdf or eps file will give you a better print result than a jpg or png image. A scan of an existing form will produce a poor result and is not recommended.
Your form needs to be in the correct proportions for the size selected. For loose carbonless NCR form printing, the full page can be used for your content.
Carbonless paper is supplied in standard sizes: letter, legal and tabloid, not in the larger sizes required for full bleed NCR printing.
You see, digital printers do not print to the edge of any paper. They leave a white border.
To get print to extend to the edge of a page, therefore, operators print the artwork, designed to bleed over the intended size, on larger paper and trim it down to the final size through the bleed.
Carbonless paper is expensive and should not be trimmed more than necessary. Because it is manufactured in standard sizes, to get a half letter form, 4 copies are printed on a tabloid sheet and then cut to size. For full bleed, only 2 copies could be printed on the same tabloid sheet, doubling the cost.
While in that sense, it is technically possible to have full bleed NCR printing, it is not economical.
Firstly, Laser Sharp uses Superior NCR brand paper, which is highly rated for its exceptional quality. Superior has a higher basis weight than most carbonless paper options, is a consistent thickness, and so offers sharp, intense imaging.
For colour print, remember that NCR sets are comprised of coloured paper, white and canary for 2 part and white, canary and pink for 3 part. The colour of the paper does affect the way the printed colour appears in NCR printing, to a small degree.
In addition, in the CMYK colour system used by printers, white is an absence of colour…the machines do not print white. This means that any part of the form’s artwork that are intended to be white will instead by canary or pink on second and third pages of the sets.
To reduce costs, the artwork is first copied as many times as will fit on a tabloid (11″ x 17″) page. It is set up for print.
Carbonless paper comes in pre-collated packages of white and canary 2 part or white, canary and pink 3 part sheets. They are placed in the printer and the job initiated, with 2 copies required to complete each 2 part set and 3 for each 3 part set.
After printing, the sets are neatly stacked and cut to size – 11″ x 17″ cut in half for letter size and in quarters for 5.5″ x 8.5″.
The trimmed sheets are pressed in a clamp, and the joining edge is glued with a special glue that interacts with the chemicals used in the paper, the same ones that allow it to make copies when written on.
Once dry, the sets are unclamped and fanned. The fanning separates the sets from each other, but leaves the pages of each set firmly attached to each other. It is a bit amazing, really. You can see it here – gluing carbonless paper sets.
If the NCR printing order includes sequential numbering, the form sets are fed through a special numbering machine that stamps the number on each set in reverse order.
If the customer has ordered forms in a book, with a wrap around cover, the last step is perforating and binding.
