Provided your vehicle is metal, yes. It is best if the magnetic sign is flat against the surface, without having to bend over curves. If your vehicle door features a curved or ridged design feature, it is best to order a smaller magnet to fit above or below the curve.
If you want to place a magnetic sign on your bumper, though, please test first as bumpers are often plastic.
To help prevent your magnet from blowing off the vehicle at highway speeds, we round the corners of the magnet.
We use 30 mil magnetic sheet, which is .03 inches or .76mm. In plain language, it is the same thickness as a credit card, which is also 30 mil. Your magnetic sign comes with the print and laminate added to the magnet, though, adding to the overall thickness of the product.

If you want long term signage and have concerns about the magnets falling off or being stolen, you may want to consider sticker signage instead.
